Meet the Board

  • Bob White

    PRESIDENT

My name is Bob White and I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve on the Ennis C.A.R.E.S Board. With my work with Ennis ISD, I come into contact with students and their families who need assistance and guidance with some of life's challenges. Ennis CARES comes alongside these individuals either by providing some financial assistance, temporary housing, a specific resource or even just counseling and prayer. All of our fellow community members deserve the chance to strive and have a partner to work through life's difficult paths. Ennis CARES does just that.

I have lived in Ennis for 20 years and have worked for Ennis ISD for all of that time. I am married to Dana and we have 3 children; Jackson, Reid and Presley. We are members of Tabernacle Baptist Church where we are very involved and serve alongside our Tabernacle family.

  • Christen Rudd

    VICE PRESIDENT

  • Marty Nelson

    2ND VICE PRESIDENT - ENGAGEMENT

  • Mark Hinson

    SECRETARY

My commitment to service began as a paramedic and later as a nurse, where I learned the importance of offering steadiness and care in people’s hardest moments. Those experiences shaped my belief that strong communities are built by neighbors who consistently show up for one another.

That foundation guides my work with Ennis Cares today. Our community has a long tradition of looking after its own, and I’m honored to help carry that forward by supporting the organization’s mission and the families who rely on it. I’m committed to ensuring Ennis continues to be a place where compassion is more than a value—it’s a way of life.

  • Shannon Lefler

    TREASURER

My name is Shannon Lefler, and I’m honored to serve on the board of Ennis C.A.R.E.S. I’ve been married to my husband Donnie for 30 years, and we have two children with our first grandbaby on the way. Family means everything to me, and that’s part of what draws me to this work—helping others in times of need feels like an extension of caring for my own. I’ve long admired how Ennis C.A.R.E.S. steps in to meet the unmet needs of our community and provides long-term solutions for individuals and families facing hard times. I’m excited to contribute my skills and experience to support this meaningful mission.

  • Dr. Zach Crook

    BOARD MEMBER

Dr. Zach Crook has served as the Lead Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church since 2022. He is serving on the board because he loves the community of Ennis and Ellis County and wants to see it prosper. Even more than that, he believes that followers of Christ should engage their community with the hope of the gospel. Ennis Cares is a great organization that does just that! Zach has been married to his wife, Jill, for 19 years, who is a counselor with EISD.  They have three great kids: Isaiah, Caleb, and Avianna. Zach enjoys coaching his kids in sports, playing softball with Jill, and reading.

  • Lupe McKenzie

    BOARD MEMBER

My name is Maria"Lupe"McKenzie,I've been a board member for Ennis C.A.R.E.S. 501c3 since May 2021, so from the beginning!

I come with 10 years of full time volunteering from my church, Refiners Fire Ministry International,-Outreach Mission. Prior to going full-time volunteer, I worked for a local Podiatrist for 10 years as well.

I was raised in Ennis, married to my husband for 28 years. We have one daughter and one adorable grandson who is 11 years of age.

I enjoy cooking for great friends and family. I also enjoy working in my yard. I love to help where I can.

Still there are so many Unmet Needs in our Community. This is the reason I was drawn to volunteer as a board member. To advocate for the less fortunate. My hope is that Ennis C.A.R.E.S 501c3  will be able to remain for many years to come.

  • Kim Mireles

    Board Member

My husband Lawrence and I moved to Ennis in 1990 and we have 3 married sons and 5 grandchildren.  Over the years I have enjoyed participating in church committees and outreach, helping with food banks, and numerous service-oriented activities through corporate, Ennis and Ellis County functions. Retired from Vistra Energy after 39 years, I am committed to God, family, community and serving others.  In 2018, I led Vistra's corporate United Way Campaign, supporting charitable initiatives in the Dallas Metropolitan area.  I look forward to collaborating with this team, other organizations and our community to love, care and find solutions for those most in need.  It is an honor to serve on the Ennis Cares Board.
